My need for a website was suddenly instantaneous: I announced that I was running for City Council. I was determined to run a professional campaign even though it was my first foray into politics. A coordinated presentation, all centered on a website, was necessary. The website was to let people know who I was, my platform, announce my supporters, collect contributions, collect names of volunteers and for an e-mail list, and to be a distribution point for campaign materials. It had to be very good to be effective and it had to be created quickly. As the copy was being written and graphics designed, Ann had started compiling the website.
